The company announced plans Wednesday to close its Los Angeles-area stores and move its operations to Las Vegas.
The move is part of an effort to simplify the chain’s business, and is designed to increase efficiency and cut costs, according to a company news release.
Lowe’s is expanding its retail footprint in Las Vegas, a town that has struggled to keep pace with the online shopping juggernaut.
The company has about 500 locations across the country, including one in San Francisco, which is the fastest-growing market in the United States.
Lowes has also announced plans to build a new high end outlet store in the Nevada desert.
LowEyes, which will include a new outlet store, is expected to open in the fall.
