A local man is facing charges after police say he fired shots at two people inside a liquor store on the night of December 13, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the location at 1:25 a.m. after receiving a report of shots fired.
Deputies say the two people who were shot were taken to a local hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff’s office says the two men have not been identified.
The two men, who were identified as 27-year-old Matthew Egan and 25-year to 26-year old John Burchard, have been charged with one count of attempted aggravated assault and one count each of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and armed criminal action.
Deputy Chief John Foltz says deputies responded to reports of shots being fired at a local store in the 300 block of Old Mill Road.
Foltzy says deputies found a man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
The man was taken to the hospital, and he later died.
The deputies say the other man was found shot to death in the parking lot of the same location.
Deperssions say a gun was found in the car that was used by both victims.
Fotz says detectives have yet to determine a motive for the shooting.
